Personality: Symmetra is someone who finds comfort in order. When she knows what she must do and her role, when others know their role and listen to orders - that is when she is at her most happiest. However, her desire for order does not mean that she lacks an appreciation for the other things in life. Symmetra is a dancer, something she learned at a young age before she was taken to Utopea, and she integrates the patterns and movements of dance and her homeland into her architectural designs and the items she creates with hard light.
Symmetra was born Satya Vaswani in Hyderabad, India. From her recollection, she did not enjoy it. At a young age, she was identified as an ideal architect candidate, which lead for her to be plucked up by Vishkar and entered into one of their academies.
She excelled in this environment and, as an employee and agent of Vishkar, continues to excel. She loves working on the designs for Vishkar, weaving beauty with function - a most pleasant combination, in her opinion. She also operates as an agent under the moniker Symmetra, seeking out information on Vishkar's opposition in order to take them down.
It is important to note that due to her flourishing under Vishkar's regime of control and the greater good, that this has influenced her opinion of what it means to excel and do good. She truly believes, at first, that Vishkar is doing good, that they can help others the way they helped her. After all, if the people she and Vishkar sabotaged did not have dirty laundry, they would not be taken down in this way.
However, she's also fully aware that some people may choose to reject this structure and order. While she may judge them for doing this, she never forces her designs onto others. Although what she considers as 'not forcing' may still included pointed comments and remarks from her, such as those directed towards the mayor of Rio de Janeiro, or her comments towards Lucio in the game.
Symmetra is not privy to Vishkar's more underhanded dealings, such as those with Talon. When she fails to find dirt on their competitor in Rio, she's shown aghast that her superior, Sanjay, sets the competitor's tower ablaze - and even more horrified when the tower falling sets the favelas, or slums, aflame. She now has her doubts that Vishkar wants is what is best. When she directly asks Sanjay if the favelas were an acceptable loss, he tells here this is the price of progress. She's shown assuring herself this is for the greater good, but the assurance rings hollow for her.
Symmetra is also canonically on the Autism spectrum. She has difficulties with social interactions, exacerbated by her belief that she knows what is right and best. She frequently mimics the other social interactions she observes - which is part of why she comes off standoffish, being from Vishkar. She works best on her own - not in teams, which leads to her being somewhat isolated even within Vishkar. She dislikes disorder and filth, although even this dislike does not mean she would wipe out those who live in it (again, her horror about the favela's being set aflame.)
Abilities and Nerfs: Symmetra's left arm is a prosthetic that allows her to generate the photon hard light she manipulates to create turrets, teleporters, barriers/shields, and walkways. She can generate turrets that slow down, stun or kill enemies, as well as project an explosive energy ball that can stun or kill, depending on her preference. She has also been shown to create a shield generator and a moving shield, though this is not the limit, as hard light photon projectors are referenced to build entire cities.
She's shown as having no limit to what she can generate with the photon projector (outside of the limits imposed for the sake of the game).
For Labunbiru, I will not have her generating teleporters or creating entire cityscapes - she'll find those abilities locked out of her use. She can generate the other items, as well as use the projector for kinky needs (stocks, restraints, dildos, etc), but she is not the type who would attempt to kill others, unless it's absolutely necessary.

Appearance: 5'7 Symmetra is 5'7, with dark skin, black hair, and dark brown eyes. She's of average size, with more muscles in her legs. She tends towards brighter, patterned clothes for her outfits.
